We rebuild what you have.
Every page, post, verdict, bio and image from your current site, carried over first, then improved. Nothing lost, every old address redirected.
Why we exist
What worked before does not work now. WordPress shipped in 2003. So did Justia. Both still sell the same rented template to thousands of firms, by the month, forever. We rebuild your site from nothing, with AI, as a custom-coded website you own outright. Then a human answers when you write.
WPCynic is a collaboration of coders. For attorneys of every practice area, the same market Justia sells to. Anyone else stuck on WordPress after that.
The service
What we offer
Every page carried over, then rebuilt as a custom-coded website that exists for one firm. One fee. You own it.
A human who answers the same business day, an editor for the things you touch, monitoring, and real numbers each quarter. Cancel any time and keep the site.
The rebuild is $750, once. That is less than half of what a typical firm pays Justia in a single year, and less than one year at Justia’s bare minimum. Five years on Justia costs $17,000 to $36,000 and you own nothing at the end. Five years with us is $750, $0 hosting, and the site is yours.
Justia five-year model in section 11 of the Justia page: published Elevate minimum, GoDaddy renewal rate, independent reviewer estimates for add-ons and rebuild.
How we do it
Every page, post, verdict, bio and image from your current site, carried over first, then improved. Nothing lost, every old address redirected.
No theme, no template. We start with an empty folder and write a program for one firm. AI does the forty billable hours in an afternoon: crawl, extract, restructure, regenerate, schema, city pages, redirect map. You approve every rewritten page as a redline before it ships.
Cloudflare’s edge, 330 locations, free tier. Sub-second loads. Lighthouse 95 and up. No server to patch, no plugin to update, no hosting bill.
The code, the content, the domain and the Cloudflare account are yours, permanently. Then, if you want it, a human who answers the same business day and an editor for the things you touch.
The offer
One rebuild, $750, once. Every page carried over, custom-coded for your firm, on your own domain, in your own hands. Then $20 a month if you want a human on call.

The dinosaurs
What worked before does not work now.
The web changed more in the last two years, with AI, than in the twenty before it. This is not your grandfather’s internet. On that clock, 2003 might as well be 1990.
Investors now ask search engines and AI assistants full questions before they call. A site that is fast, structured and specific gets cited. A brochure gets skipped. A template cannot answer a question. A custom-coded site can.
WordPress is off its peak and losing share faster each quarter. Justia Elevate is WordPress with a proprietary lid, and Justia cannot get off it without rebuilding thousands of sites, so it will not.
The obituary, with sourcesRoughly seven in ten WordPress sites fail Core Web Vitals. Justia sites we audited score 40 to 65 on Performance. That number is the ceiling of a template. No Google gimmick games: a site built right does not need SEO tricks to paper over WordPress’s shortcomings.
Pure code versus cheap tricks and gimmicks.
The expensive marketing services sold to law firms, $1,500 to $10,000 a month at Scorpion and FindLaw, exist to compensate for a slow platform: paid ads, link schemes and plugins piled on top of WordPress to get it ranking. Build the site right and most of that spend has nothing left to fix. We write custom code for what remains.

WordPress versus Svelte
A WordPress page is assembled on a server every time someone asks for it: PHP boots, the database answers, the theme runs, every plugin runs, then it ships. A Svelte page is built once and waiting at a server a few miles from the phone. One of these is measurably faster, and Google measures it.

Independent testing
Type your address below, copy the prompt, and paste it into whichever assistant you already trust. It will read your site the way an engineer would and compare it to a modern build. We did not write the answer.
The prompt. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Gemini.
Review the website at [paste your website address] the way a web engineer would in 2026. Be blunt and specific. Tell me: 1. What it runs on. Is it WordPress? Which theme and which plugins can you see in the source? Is there a Justia, FindLaw or agency credit in the footer? 2. What it loads. How many script and stylesheet files, how much JavaScript, and whether it pulls Google Fonts, jQuery or other third-party code before the page can show. 3. How fast it is on a phone. Estimate its Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) and its Google Lighthouse Performance score, and say whether Google would mark it down in search for speed. 4. Security. How many known vulnerabilities were disclosed in the last year for that platform and its plugins, and whether a contact or intake form on it runs through third-party plugin code. 5. Structure. Does it have proper schema (LegalService, Attorney, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList), city or practice pages built for search, and clean HTML an AI assistant can read and cite? How many URLs are in its sitemap, and how many of those are auto-generated tag, category, author or date archives rather than real pages? 6. What it cannot do. Can it answer a visitor's question, qualify a lead, or do anything beyond display pages until a human edits them? Then compare it, point by point, to a site built from scratch in a modern framework such as SvelteKit or Vue, compiled to static files and served from Cloudflare's edge with self-hosted fonts and no plugins: what would that site score on each of the six points, and what would the owner gain? Finish with one paragraph a busy attorney could read in thirty seconds.
What to look for in the answer
/wp-content/ or /wp-includes/ in the page source
It is WordPress. The theme name is usually in the same path.
fonts.googleapis.com
Fonts fetched from Google on every visit. Fifteen to twenty-five Lighthouse points, gone.
jquery.min.js
A library from 2006, still loading on most WordPress themes.
Thirty or more script and stylesheet files
The theme ships code for every feature its author ever imagined, used or not.
A Justia, FindLaw or agency credit in the footer
Their brand, on your site, paid for by you.
Largest Contentful Paint over 2.5 seconds on mobile
Google’s own threshold. Over it, the page is marked down.
Generic or missing schema
No LegalService, no FAQPage, no city pages. Google and AI assistants have nothing to cite.
A contact form powered by a plugin
Your prospect’s details pass through a stranger’s code.
Thousands of URLs in the sitemap
Tag, category and date archives WordPress generates on its own. One firm we rebuilt had 10,800 of them and 13 real pages. A law firm needs about fifty. Google spends its crawl on the junk.
An admin panel that is WordPress itself
The same dashboard, the same plugins, the same attack surface as every other site on earth. If a site needs an editor, we write one for that site alone.
Templates
One theme. Hundreds of firms. Find yours.
Wireframes of one Justia Elevate template, names changed. The gavel is always there.
A layout drawn years ago for nobody, sold by the thousand, with a stock gavel on top. The look is dated on the day it ships and it never changes.
A prospect with a real problem is handed a page they have seen on a hundred other firms. The message is that you assumed they would not notice. They notice. A theme tells the smartest client you will ever have that you thought they were stupid.
Twenty years of practice, real verdicts, a reputation built one case at a time, presented in a container shared with every competitor on the same theme. You would not send a client a brief on someone else’s letterhead. That is what a template is.
A modern law firm site is software. A theme is a brochure.
The template trap, in fullThe plugin bill
WordPress shipped in 2003 as a blog, and every gap since has been patched with a plugin: another company’s code, loaded on every visit, slowing the page it was bought to fix. A caching plugin to undo the slowness. A firewall to undo the holes. A plugin to make the email send. Modern code does not need any of this. It was written this decade, for this job, and it ships nothing it does not use.

Why they still sell it
Most web shops will sell you WordPress. Not because it is your best option. Because it is their easiest.
A WordPress “developer” picks a theme, installs the plugins, and types your name into the header. No code is written. That is not a slur; it is the product description. The whole platform exists so that people who cannot program can ship a website, and most of the people selling them cannot.
They have the templates, the plugins and the pitch ready before you call. A site that takes a coder a week takes them an afternoon of clicking, and they bill the week. Easy for them is what you are paying for.
Updates, patches, “security monitoring,” $95 to $395 a month, forever. A site that does not break does not pay. WordPress breaks. That is not a flaw in their model. It is the model.
For twenty years WordPress was the safe answer, the way IBM once was. Safe for the vendor. The attorney gets the slow site, the plugin bill and the monthly invoice, and the vendor gets to never learn anything new.
Picking a theme, installing plugins, typing a name into a header: that is the part AI does now, in minutes, for nothing. The web shop that never learned to code has nothing left to sell. The ones who write code use AI to write more of it, faster, for one firm at a time. That is the difference between a vendor who is about to be replaced and one who just got faster.
We are coders. We would rather write you a site than rent you one.
The deliverable
Every rebuild includes
Built in, not bolted on
The process
We audit your live site and note the load time.
WPCynic rebuilds it, every page and post carried over, before we ever email you.
You get two links: your site, and your site rebuilt.
If you like it: redlines, the redirect map, Search Console, DNS. Nothing goes live until you say so.
You will not lose a single ranking. Every old URL is preserved or redirected, and we verify it in Search Console before cutover.
Pricing
One build fee. Then a monthly for a human, if you want one. The site is yours either way.
$750 one time
Bar advertising rules are respected. Every rewritten page goes back to you as a redline before it ships.
$20 a month, optional
$0 included
No FindLaw. No lead-gen vendor. No per-lead fee. Intake is part of the site, not a subscription to someone else.
Care is included for the first three months of every rebuild.
An editor for your content, written for your site alone: $250, once. Never a WordPress plugin.
Anything else custom-coded, from a case calculator to a client portal: $100 an hour, quoted first. That is also how we replace the $2,000-a-month marketing services that exist to prop up WordPress.
Ownership
The asset is owned
Code, content, domain, Cloudflare account: yours, permanently, whether or not you pay another dollar. Hosting on the free tier costs nothing.
The service is rented
A human, edits, monitoring, intake. Cancel and the site stays up exactly as it was. Cancel Justia and the site disappears.
Proof
Twenty law-firm websites rebuilt from scratch so far, as working previews. Rebuilt is not the same as launched: the owner decides that.

Rate your siteWho we are
WPCynic is a collaboration of coders with one job: replace WordPress sites with custom-coded ones the owner actually owns. Attorneys of every practice area first, the same market Justia sells to, because that is where the worst of it lives. Anyone stuck on WordPress after that.
This service grew out of rebuilding sites for people we already worked with, when we saw what they were paying for and what they were getting. Coders, not an agency: no account managers, no templates, no ticket queue in another country. We write the code, we answer the email.
What we build with
No plugins. No themes. No strangers’ code on your client-facing site.
Questions attorneys ask
Have the new site built and approved before you cancel. We rebuild every page and post from your current Justia site, redirect every old address, and verify it in Google Search Console. Only then do you point your domain at the new site and give Justia notice. Nothing goes dark in between.
No. Justia Elevate sites are licensed, not sold: the theme and code stay on Justia’s servers, and when you stop paying the site comes down. A WPCynic rebuild is yours outright, including the code, the content, the domain and the hosting account, whether or not you keep paying us for anything.
Not if the move is done properly. Every existing address is kept or permanently redirected, the sitemap is resubmitted, and Search Console is checked before the switch. Most sites gain ground afterwards, because Google ranks faster pages higher and a custom-coded site loads in a fraction of the time.
A custom-coded site you own, on free hosting, with someone to call. That replaces the monthly Justia Elevate fee, the WordPress server underneath it and the plugin bill with a one-time rebuild. WPCynic charges $750 once, and $20 a month if you want a human on call.
Anywhere from $750 to $55,000 to build, plus whatever it costs to keep. Agencies quote $7,500 to $16,000 for a solo practice. Justia starts at $82.50 a month and never stops. A WPCynic rebuild is $750 once, hosting is free, and the site is yours.
It is the most attacked platform on the web. Sucuri found WordPress behind 95.5 percent of the hacked sites it cleaned in 2023, and most of the holes are in plugins. An intake form on a WordPress site sends a prospect’s details through that plugin code.
Because WordPress builds every page from scratch on every visit, then loads a theme and plugins on top. Justia sites we audited take around four seconds on a phone; a custom-coded page takes about a third of one. Google ranks on that speed, and half of mobile visitors leave after three seconds.
Yes, as long as it screens and never advises. A custom-coded site can walk a prospect through structured questions for your practice area, capture the matter and hand you a qualified summary. WPCynic includes intake at no charge; an AI chat assistant for intake is optional and never gives legal advice.
